Throughout the year we offer a range of activities and drop in sessions for children to come along with their parents/carers.

A fun session involving, glue, paints, clay, water, foam, sand and lots more. Come along and enjoy the mess without worrying about the state of the house!
A quiet session for babies to explore natural shapes textures and everyday objects. This group is for babies who can sit but not yet crawl.
Cooking with Kids
Each session an exciting menu is planned for you and your child to prepare and enjoy. Each child will have their own special cooking box and will create their very own recipe book.
Watch your child learn through exploration and discovery of everyday objects. This is a follow on from treasure baskets. (For approximately 9 months – 2 years)

Hedgehogs Parent & Toddler Group
Hedgehogs is a parent led group (supported by Woodlanders) for parents/carers and their children (up to 5 years).
Hedgehogs sessions are in St Andrews Church Hall every Friday morning.
The session involves free play with toys, volunteer led art & craft, healthy snacks, and singing. There is also a story corner and outdoor play in the summer.
Hedgehogs is a popular group who are very welcoming to new faces. Please drop in and see us. The first session is FREE!!
Coffee, tea and biscuits for the grown ups is also included!

How Hedgehogs is run
Hedgehogs operates on a rota system so the involvement of parents is crucial to the existence of the group. At Hedgehogs we have a good core following but are always looking to find new members to help out on the rota. If you would like to drop in and see what the session is like please come along and join the fun!

Ashburton Family Services is a registered charity with good links in the community. As such we can provide information from the Sure start ABC Centre which offers help to local families with under-fives by providing information, advice and services. Help with returning to work, finding childcare, family support, family health, and much more. ABC Children’s Centre is a Sure Start Children’s Centre, covering Buckfastleigh, Ashburton and the surrounding area.
